چکیده
Strontium (Sr) substituted calcium phosphate (CaP) coatings have stimulated a lot of interest as Sr is known to provide osteoconductive properties. Most the work date with respect has focused on creation crystalline Sr-substituted hydroxyapatite (HA), opposed amorphous coatings. The reported here utilises radio frequency magnetron sputtering deposit both CaP and Sr-containing their characterisation using X-Ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS) Time-of-Flight Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometry (ToF-SIMS). coating had high Ca/P atomic ratio at 1.81 ± 0.02. containing was shown contain (Ca + Sr)/P ratios 1.18 0.05 1.49 0.05, respectively. Peak-fitting overlapping Sr3d P2p region also showed presence previously unreported doublets for each element. ToF-SIMS results highlighted that homogeneously distributed across surface via detailed chemical mapping experiments. This study can be used use analytical techniqes important understanding uppermost

Role of Amorphous Calcium Phosphate in Dentistry
Objective: Amorphous calcium phosphate (ACP) is a reactive solution capable of releasing calcium and phosphate ions, conversion to apatite and remineralization of mineral tooth structure. This study reviews ACP structure, its properties and its applications in dentistry. Methods: In this review study, keywords including “amorphous calcium phosphate”, “mineralization”, “hydroxyapatite”, “cas...
متن کاملStrontium-substituted hydroxyapatite coatings deposited via a co-deposition sputter technique.
The bioactivity of hydroxyapatite (HA) coatings can be modified by the addition of different ions, such as silicon (Si), lithium (Li), magnesium (Mg), zinc (Zn) or strontium (Sr) into the HA lattice. Of the ions listed here, strontium substituted hydroxyapatite (SrHA) coatings have received a lot of interest recently as Sr has been shown to promote osteoblast proliferation and differentiation, ...
متن کاملTribological behavior of sputter-deposited MoSX/Ni coatings
AbstractSputtered MoS2 coatings have been mostly used as a solid lubricant. In this investigation, MoSx/Ni composite coatings with Ni contents varying from 0 to 22 % were deposited onto steel substrate using a DC magnetron sputter process. The MoS2/Ni ratio in the coatings was controlled by sputtering the composite targets. The composition, microstructure, and mechanical properties of the...
متن کاملEffects of calcium phosphate composition in sputter coatings on in vitro and in vivo performance.
Calcium phosphate (CaP) ceramic coatings have been used to enhance the biocompatibility and osteoconductive properties of metallic implants. The chemical composition of these ceramic coatings is an important parameter, which can influence the final bone performance of the implant. In this study, the effect of phase composition of CaP-sputtered coatings was investigated on in vitro dissolution b...
متن کاملCharacterisation of calcium phosphate/titanium dioxide hybrid coatings.
The role of titanium dioxide (TiO2) as a means to engender enhanced stability into calcium phosphate (Ca-P) coatings has been well recognised. Several different methods have been used to create such Ca-P/TiO2 hybrid layers on a range of substrates. This paper reports the properties of a Ca-P/TiO2 system created by the sputter deposition of hydroxyapatite onto a titanium surface and the subseque...
